Swedish school children started a worldwide effort in 1987 by sending money to Monteverde, Costa Rica to purchase rainforest and protect its priceless natural treasures forever. Today children from 44 nations have helped The Children’s Eternal Rainforest become the largest private reserve in Costa Rica, 54,000 acres. We are committed to protecting this biodiversity, and we encourage you to partner with us in preserving more rain forest.

Dear Friends,

Next summer come ready to explore, hike, and discover Costa Rica! Our two new eco-trip itineraries have great adventures waiting for you. You can photograph the country’s amazing bio-diversity, catch birds in mist-nets , visit artisans, be awakened by howler monkeys, climb inside a strangler fig tree, raft a river, visit a wild cat refuge, learn to make tortillas, interact with local school children, plant trees for a service project, and much more. Your opportunity to stay in our biological field stations in the Children’s Eternal Rainforest will delight and inspire.

Our Travel/Science coordinator, Maggie Eisenberger, has planned these itineraries with the help of Jeff Norris of Natural Solutions in Costa Rica. This expert team has designed trips for travelers of all ages – whether it is your first trip to Costa Rica or you have visited many times.

We are also very happy to accommodate school groups and individual families with custom made trips that will fit your wishes. So kick your shoes off, pause a moment, and visit mclus.org/eco-tourism, to explore these trips in more detail. While there, also note our exciting trip plans to Belize.

When you travel with us to Costa Rica or Belize, your trip dollars will count toward conservation. Your trip will make a difference!

For the Forest,
